CLINICAL INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
1.1. Based on the basic Physical therapy curriculum as defined by R.A. 5680 and the standards of Physical and Occupational Therapy Education by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), the Clinical Internship is the final and the fifth year of the Physical Therapy Education.
1.2. In accordance with Republic Act (RA) 7722, otherwise known as the “Higher Education Act of 1994” and in view of CHED Resolution Nos. 55 and 104 s.2017, the General Guidelines for Physical Therapy Internship Program are adopted and promulgated by the Commission for the purpose of rationalizing Physical Therapy Education in the country with the end in view of keeping at pace with the demands of global competitiveness.
1.3. Clinical Internship in the Far Eastern University – Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation (FEU-NRMF) School of Physical Therapy (SPT) covers a period of eleven (11) months to be conducted in rehabilitation centers located in Metro Manila and nearby provinces as designated by the Office of the Director of the School of Physical Therapy.
1.4. Clinical Internship in the Far Eastern University – Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation, School of Physical Therapy is monitored by the Clinical Internship Coordinator/s as appointed by the Director of the School.
1.5. The Clinical Internship Program of the FEU – NRMF SPT is designed for students for the general practice of Physical Therapy, which is accomplished by clinical skill training focused on evidence based practice and to provide interns’ adequate exposure to different types of physical disabilities and their respective physical therapy management.
